This Scot, considered one of the greatest exponents of classical economics and economic philosophy, is known mainly for his work Inquiry into the nature and causes of the wealth of nations. 1776. Study about the process of creation and accumulation of wealth, for which he is considered the father of modern economics, pointing out this writing as the founding document of economic liberalism based on the economics of growth. Its principles, based on human nature, maintain that:  


"The key to social well-being is economic growth. Freedom from work and free competition."
